For my vegan and vegetarian followers!

ima use this to cut down on how many hot-housed veggies i buy

Oh, someone was asking me about this the other day.  Shiz? Sara? Was it one of you?

Keep in mind as well, this is not true for all growing areas - the best thing to do if you want to know if a fruit or veg is in season is to consult a farmer’s almanac.

Central Florida has, like, a two-week period in January where we are maybe possibly at risk of frost. We can grow stuff almost all winter long if we pay attention. Our dead season is actually in the summer, when other places are their most productive.

County extension offices can also provide awesome information specific to your area - for people who want to grow food or for people who want to buy in-season things that are grown locally.

About

Things. Mostly fat.

(Adding in a few personal details: fat, white, currently middle-class product of a working-class/poor background, adopted, bipolar, mostly-able bodied, agnostic, cis, femme, queer in a hetero marriage. That probably covers it for the moment.)
