Ok Tumblr, time to make this happen.
Flying Pig Apparel is a startup company by some fab women who want to provide activewear for fatties.  They have no limits on what size they will make, and they’re looking at providing affordable options, worldwide shipping and best of all… using natural fabrics!  What you can see above is just their starter “story” that they will begin with, but they hope to expand to all kinds of things.
They have a Kickstarter up to help them get going.  I did an interview with Rene Rice, one of the fab women behind the project.Let’s get behind this.  Pledge ‘em some bucks if you can.  (Pledges over $50 becomes pre-orders for garments, how cool is that?)
If you can’t, share their project around to people who can.  Spread the word.
And if you think fat people should be exercising, put your damn money where your mouth is and contribute to a project to provide them with adequate clothing to do so!

Ooooh this is cool.

This concept is awesome and all. And I looooove that they have a no size-limit but, personally,  I think these are extremely unflattering on their lovely models. I feel like you can get these, in big sizes as well, at various other stores for a fraction of the price.
Come on. They kinda look like bags. They are doing nothing for their bodies.

Firstly - Fuck Flattering!
Secondly - these are the prototypes for their opening range, Flying Pig Apparel are planning to branch out into all kinds of different styles, prints, colours etc once they have the startup funds to obtain the drafting gear they  need to be able to draft other designs.
And finally - three words.  NATURAL FIBRES/AFFORDABLE.  If you can find anywhere else that does natural fibres at the prices these will be retailing for, please do share.Extra brownie points if you can find somewhere that ships internationally.

Um, I don’t care about flattering and I DO love their project and what they are doing. But asking that the clothes ALSO be cute clothes that fit well isn’t actually asking for too much.
Everything looks too big on them. And I LOVE the ringer tee. But I do kind of think they could style this shoot a little better.
I say that and I’m still giving them my money. But.
