His voice was amazing, and he was a lovely person and advocate for Hawaiian rights. Your tag has “girl” in it (“big girl you are beautiful”) — he’s not one, nor did he represent as such. He was Hawaiian, and this is the body type of many Polynesian people. This is what he looks like, and I’m pretty sure his reaction to this kind of bullying comment would have been something like, “You can think whatever you want to think about me, but I’m going to sing amazing music despite everything and everyone.”  Rest in peace, Iz.
